Whoa, that's terrifying! Never seen a caterpillar like that before. Brilliant example of 'don't eat me, I'm poisonous' in the animal world.

That's awesome. Where I grew up we had what we called fuzzy-wuzzy caterpillars. They're about an inch long and about 1/2 inch wide, incredibly furry. I used to love them. All caterpillars really.

To this day I'm still the person who finds insects, bugs, worms, etc. on the sidewalk or trapped inside and rescues them. I have no idea whatsoever why people don't like them.
